Student union

Perho Culi­nary, Tourism & Busi­ness Col­lege has a stu­dent union con­sist­ing of Perho’s stu­dents. Stu­dent union has a board of mem­bers who are elected by the stu­dents. Through the mem­bers of the board, other stu­dents can in­flu­ence school af­fairs. All stu­dents are wel­come to par­tic­i­pate in ac­tivies or­ga­nized by the stu­dent union of Perho. Stu­dent union is re­spon­si­ble for var­i­ous events and ac­tiv­i­ties in or­der to de­velop learn­ing en­vi­ron­ments, in­crease school sat­is­fac­tion and to in­crease value and at­trac­tivenes of vo­ca­tional ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing. In ad­di­tion, the stu­dent union cre­ates a pos­i­tive ac­tion spirit to­wards be­ing a mem­ber of Perho com­mu­nity. Meet­ings of stu­dent union in­cludes top­ics such as im­prove­ment of stu­dents’ well-be­ing and the com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween stu­dents, teach­ers and the staff. Ev­ery month, the di­rec­tor of Perho meets stu­dent rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the stu­dent union. Stu­dent union also elects rep­re­sen­ta­tives to the sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment team of Perho.

Tutor activities

Guided tu­tor­ing ac­tiv­i­ties are also or­ga­nized at Perho. Tu­tor­ing is the ac­tiv­ity or­ga­nized by the stu­dents them­selves in or­der to strengthen the stu­dents’ ac­tiv­ity and in­volve­ment in the school com­mu­nity, as well as adding a sense of com­mu­nity and com­fort. Those stu­dents who are in­ter­ested in tu­tor­ing (mainly of­fered for the first year stu­dents) are or­ga­nized train­ing in in­ter­ac­tion, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and pre­sen­ta­tion skills as well as mo­ti­va­tional prac­tices. Ca­reer coun­selors and tu­tors (sec­ond or third-year stu­dents) gen­er­ally in­tro­duce our new stu­dents to the stud­ies and work­ing prac­tices at Perho. Tu­tors may also par­tic­i­pate at va­ri­ety of fairs show­cas­ing vo­ca­tional ed­u­ca­tion for el­e­men­tary stu­dents or for­eign stu­dents. In ad­di­tion, tu­tors also act as rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Perho for vis­i­tors and fu­ture stu­dents.
