Honey by Perho
Two beehives where brought to the fifth floor terrace at Perho in the spring of 2013. During the first season of 2013, Perho received total of about 70 kg of honey. The second season (2014) provided about 110 kg of honey. In the late summer of 2014, two additional beehives were added.
Teaching kitchens and the Restaurant Perho utilize extracted honey and fresh honeycombs in variety of ways.
Bees produce honey, but their pollination is perhaps even more valuable. Bees are important pollinators for the variety of crops, as well as natural plants! The seasonal harvests can be increased by up to 50% if there are beehives nearby.
