There are many different varieties of salad greens growing at Perho Green City Farm, such as Mustard Greens, Wild Arugula, Mizuna, Mangold, Green Leaf Lettuce, Red and Green Oak Leaf Lettuce, Cos Lettuce and Endive.
Mixed salad production is ideal for the Green city farm, one of our aims being to supply a freshly cut organic leaves for a nutritious mixture of flavors, colors and texture.
The varieties in the mixtures are important, too much mustard leaf or rocket can dominate, hiding the milder salad´s flavors. The mizuna can range in taste from mild to hot, the lambs lettuce has a unique texture and flavor, while the endives are crispy and bitter.
Using the romaine and flat lettuce as a base leaf, an almost perfect salad can be achieved.
