Salad Greens

There are many dif­fer­ent va­ri­eties of salad greens grow­ing at Perho Green City Farm, such as Mus­tard Greens, Wild Arugula, Mizuna, Man­gold, Green Leaf Let­tuce, Red and Green Oak Leaf Let­tuce, Cos Let­tuce and En­dive.

Mixed salad pro­duc­tion is ideal for the Green city farm, one of our aims be­ing to sup­ply a freshly cut or­ganic leaves for a nu­tri­tious mix­ture of fla­vors, col­ors and tex­ture.

The va­ri­eties in the mix­tures are im­por­tant, too much mus­tard leaf or rocket can dom­i­nate, hid­ing the milder salad´s fla­vors. The mizuna can range in taste from mild to hot, the lambs let­tuce has a unique tex­ture and fla­vor, while the en­dives are crispy and bit­ter.

Us­ing the ro­maine and flat let­tuce as a base leaf, an al­most per­fect salad can be achieved.
