Summer Squash

Green, yel­low and striped zuc­chi­nis are grow­ing at Perho Green City Farm. Ex­cel­lent for lasagne, grilling and other veg­e­tar­ian meals!

When you grow squash, just re­mem­ber to keep har­vest­ing the young fruits at least twice a week as they de­velop. This will en­cour­age the plant to pro­duce more. If you leave the squash fruit on the plants they will just quickly grow too big to even carry home. When eaten young the fruit is fresh and crispy, as it ma­tures it be­comes more pithy and be­gins to pro­duce seed
