Student union
Perho Culinary, Tourism & Business College has a student union consisting of Perho’s students. Student union has a board of members who are elected by the students. Through the members of the board, other students can influence school affairs. All students are welcome to participate in activies organized by the student union of Perho. Student union is responsible for various events and activities in order to develop learning environments, increase school satisfaction and to increase value and attractivenes of vocational education and training. In addition, the student union creates a positive action spirit towards being a member of Perho community. Meetings of student union includes topics such as improvement of students’ well-being and the communication between students, teachers and the staff. Every month, the director of Perho meets student representatives of the student union. Student union also elects representatives to the sustainable development team of Perho.
Tutor activities
Guided tutoring activities are also organized at Perho. Tutoring is the activity organized by the students themselves in order to strengthen the students’ activity and involvement in the school community, as well as adding a sense of community and comfort. Those students who are interested in tutoring (mainly offered for the first year students) are organized training in interaction, communication and presentation skills as well as motivational practices. Career counselors and tutors (second or third-year students) generally introduce our new students to the studies and working practices at Perho. Tutors may also participate at variety of fairs showcasing vocational education for elementary students or foreign students. In addition, tutors also act as representatives of Perho for visitors and future students.
