We might have adopted many sustainable practices in our everyday life: -we know how to take biodegradable waste into bio waste bin or how to flatten milk cartons and place them into trash -we may recycle paper and cardboard boxes.
However, at the same time, our way of life and the maintenance of individual well-being consumes too much of natural resources from the planet. United Nations Environmental and Developmental Program of Action states that unsustainable production and over consumption are the main causes of global degradation of the environment and natural resources. For example; the Finnish people consume directly or indirectly natural resources at an average rate of almost 100 tonnes per year. We are part of the 20% minority, that accounts for 80% of the world’s use of all natural resources.
