The French term Amuse or fully known as Amuse Bouche in a literal sense, means ‘mouth amuser’. It is a single bite sized serving which precedes the Starter course. Unlike hors d’oeuvre, an amuse bouche is often not ordered from a menu but rather created from the Chefs inspiration. They can be comprised of a multitude of food mediums, with the sole aim to entice the guest in preparation for the meal ahead.
