Bridgwater and Taunton College

The Quantock Restaurant is an in-house restaurant, open 3 days a week to the public to provide a real working environment for students to get a true taste of hospitality. With a £1.3million pound renovation 3 years ago, the state-of-the-art kitchen and restaurant prides itself on using local suppliers and seasonal ingredients. Having a working farm on a second campus allows us access to incredible produce and vegetables picked by the students feature on the first menu of the year!

Long running partnerships with award winning chefs nationwide provide a great insight to different levels of the industry from hospital caterers to Michelin star restaurants. Work experience placements including The Fat Duck, Browns of London and The Dorchester Collection means the students get to experience the industry beyond the South West.

With a view to provide a more sustainable future for the college, along side ongoing changes such as fully compostable food packaging, protecting and promoting natural habitats in and around the 3 campuses, and looking to change the vehicle fleet to battery powered vehicles, the SusCop project fits in with where we want to be in the future. The restaurant provides a place where the recipes can reach a wide range of people and bring an understanding of alternative proteins to the South West of England.
